RE: 98 Honda Accord - shifting jerks btwn gear 1 and 2
yeah.......right..........sure..........
Do you actually own a 6th gen accord? If not, then I would strongly suggest that you actually go read about the problems with the transmissions in these cars. I can speak from PERSONAL experience and tell you that once the car starts to jerk between shifts, it's game over. chaning a shift solenoid will not solve this guy's problem. The jerk is cuased by worn clutch packs that slip and then suddenly grab causing the harsh jerking. IF you have a solenoid that fails the car will not change gears or will be stuck in a certain gear.
6th gen accords (all of them) suffer from the following problems
failure of second gear due to insufficient lubrication
Differential bearing failure
main filter cloggs due to failure of main shaft or some other part and you loose second gear and then the others.
OP, your trans will be dead within about 1K miles since the jerk first started.
If you are wondering how I know all of this, I am on transmission #4 since I had my trans rebuilt at 89,97x miles and I am at 100,6XX miles
