Default 99 accord coupe v6 transmission issues

1999 Accord Coupe ExV6 Automatic

I've never dealt with transmission issues so this may not be a transmission issue but usually when i drive and I get off the highway (after 5-15 minutes of driving at high speeds between 50-80) when I brake and come to a full stop the car will act as if its in neutral and if i take my foot off the brake it will go with gravity... around 2-3 seconds later the car will get back into Drive and i'll feel the car sort of bounce into it. Problem? Sometimes I dont notice when this happens and If I accelerate the car wont move for about 2-4 seconds but if i press the gas and the car happens to go into Drive at that moment it will rev pretty fast and my tires screech... Is this is a transmission issue? Previous owner told me the transmission was replaced 10k ago i bought it with 176k has 182k now, could it be low on transmission fluid?

Going to the mechanic on friday to get a new catalytic converter but before he checked it out I wanted to know if anyone had experience with this and could help.

Any help is appreciated

Update: Today i felt the transmission acting weird again this time the road was empty so I came to a full stop, then accelerated and noticed at around 40-45mph the car was at 6000 RPMS and wasnt going to the next gear, it didnt accelerate past that.

Sure sounds like a transmission problem. I'm not much of an auto-trans guru, so hopefully someone can offer some advice.

I'm no transmission expert, but I know that the 98-02 accords had transmission problems. Especially the V6. Your transmission may be on its way out.

Update: Mechanic checked Transmission Fluid... Looked new but was incredibly low. He told me to put 2 quarts in drive it around to see if anything changes.

My father was telling me that if your catalytic converter gets clogged or messed up it could damage the tranny, does any one know if this is true or not?

I currently have the check engine light on and my mechanic told me it was the catalytic converter, maybe this is affecting the tranny?

UPDATE: Added a quart and a half of Transmission fluid from the dealer, drove it like i stole it, responded good and better than before i started having issues... only drove it for about 10 minutes so throughout the week i will know if this was the real problem.
