Default 99 Accord Transmission Troubles

My 99 Accord EX V6 has been having some troubles lately. After I've been driving it on the highway for about 20 minutes or so it will start to slip out of gear. Once I get off the highway it continues to do this. If I press on the gas nothing happens. The car acts as if my foot isn't on the accelerator at all even though my foot is in the same position. The engine doesn't rev or anything. If I press on the gas hard enough the car will jerk and accelerate very fast but as soon as I let off it feels like its not in gear anymore. I tried changing the transmission fluid but that didn't seem to help much. The fluid that was in it looked like chocolate syrup so who knows when it was last changed. Any help would be appreciated since I don't want to get the transmission rebuilt if I don't have to.

If the transmission fluid looked, that bad, do another fluid change. You should get about 3 quarts to drain. Around 6 quarts remain when you do a drain/refill.

Well I changed it twice and the fluid is looking better but the problem still persists.
