99 Honda Accord 2.3l instrument cluster problems
Just yesterday my tach and speedometer stopped working and everything else was working fine. So i went and brought another cluster frm pull a part and installed it. The tach and fuel started working but not the speedometer and the temp gauge pegged hot even after 1st time starting it. Checked all fuses and all was perfect. The temp gauge worked fine in the original cluster. Has anyone had this problem before? If so what should i do to fix it?

What year donor car? And car model, engine, transmission, etc... for your car and the donor car.
I think 1998-1999 Accords are different from 2000-2002 in terms of what signals are sent to the cluster.
The "new user" section is mostly for welcome & introduction posts, so I'm moving this to General Tech where you'll probably get more help.

Now I'm a bit curious after a quick look...
Speedometer signal comes from the transmission for all years 1998-2002. Tachometer signal comes from the PCM for all years 1998-2002. So the wrong year cluster won't explain the tach & speed problem.
But the temperature-gauge signal comes from a sender on the engine for 1998-1999. For 2000-2002 the temperature signal comes from the PCM which is probably a different kind of signal so THAT ONE is caused by the wrong-year cluster.
There also doesn't seem to be any difference in the cluster if either car has the ULEV engine. That one has a lot of changes to the wiring harness, but apparently not for the cluster.
Are you interested in doing electrical troubleshooting? Got a multi-meter?
