Default ABS Light

Long story short...I bought a 1994 honda accord, the ABS light was on. I unplugged the ABS computer and figured that I would come back to it later...well it's later. I know you can pull codes, but as soon as I restart the car the ABS light is off (would there still be any codes). What I did was raise each tire and spun them...the only one that tripped the ABS light was the driver rear...so I think that sensor is bad...going to pick n pull in the morning to get one. I can't remember where I read that you are able to check the wheel sensors this way...might have been here..if so and this works thanks to who ever posted.

Well keep us posted.....If you tripped the light, why not get the codes? Also take a volt meter with you so you can test the one you pull....or test the one on the car.

No light untill I start moving...only the driver wear trips light when spinning them individually...kinda thought it was a "short cut" check I know google and find em

94-97 ABS CODES

You pull these codes the same way you pull check-engine codes, but it's the ABS light that's blinking. Here's the sequence...

Insert the jumper, then turn on the key.
Long (2sec.) flash - long (2sec.) pause - this isn't the code yet.
Short flashes for the first digit of the code - 1sec. pause - short flashes for the 2nd digit.
Long (5-second) pause, then the next code.

(94-97) ABS DTCs...
1 - ABS pump motor over-run
1 2 ABS pump motor
1 3 high pressure leakage
1 4 pressure switch
1 8 high pressure system
2 1 parking brake
3 1 pulser RF
3 2 pulser LF
3 4 pulser RR
3 8 pulser LR
3 12 different diameter tires
4 1 wheel sensor RF
4 2 wheel sensor LF
4 4 wheel sensor RR
4 8 wheel sensor LR
5 - rear wheel lock - R/L
5 4 rear wheel lock - R
5 8 rear wheel lock - L
6 - fail-safe relay - F/R
6 1 fail-safe relay - F
6 4 fail-safe relay - R
7 1 solenoid - RF
7 2 solenoid - LF
7 4 solenoid - R
8 1 ABS function
8 2 CPU comparison
8 4 IC self-check

There's NO long flashes, it's all short flashes with short & long pauses in between.

Beginning in '98 there's a whole different ABS system, with a different list of codes.

... courtesy of g22cd5 over in the DIY section, who nabbed them from one of my long-ago posts at Honda-Tech.

In the Common DIY Threads there is a link to a manual you can download----a 4 2 is left frt, a 4 8 is left rear?

Pull the connector and measure the resistance to the sensor? What reading do you get (700~1,000)?

Thanks you guys. This is next weeks project . Going to clean the EGR tomorrow. When I first got the car I cleaned all the sensors...was reading somewhere about cleaning the inside were the sensor sits in the hub...going to try that first (after pulling the codes ).

Picked up another wheel sensor...pulling same code : 4 4 wheel sensor RR
Is there a way to test the wheel sensor...I mean resistance or something.

Going to check the resistance tomorrow morning

Checked the speed sensor, I have 0 resistance and no continuity. Am I supose to have 700~1,000 ?

Sorry, for the rear it is 600~900 (resistance)....I posted the measurement for the front earlier.
