Accord 2006 Brakes
I just bought a new 2006 Honda Accord EX-L that has real sensitive brakes. I almost hit the windshield each time I brake. The Honda dealership checked them and said they were operating as they should. Has anyone else seen this problem?

RE: Accord 2006 Brakes
I have an '03 (or rather my wife does)... if I get in it to drive it after driving my truck I feel like the slightest touch on the brakes will send us through the windshield. It takes me a while to re-learn the appropriate pressure to apply. Ours is an EX-V6 too, and I have a problem with the throttle being sensitive too... so stop and go traffic can be a roller coaster ride for me sometimes... [8D]

I agree. I have an 2006 Accord EX_L and have the same issue. It is not just something to get used to. I understand that they are more sensative than other vehicles but that is not the issue here. They are sometimes worse than others too. I think maybe wet or cold conditions. My dealer saw the problem and said that it also exist on other vehicles of the same model and year. No fix, and American Honda says that it is normal. I will continue to persue it, because it is definatley not normal. I think the service manager and myself will be switching vehicle if hedoesn't do something.

I agree. I was totally new to Honda about 8 months ago and it took me awhile to get use to, shall I say
great brakes for a change. My wife and my 2 daughters fight over who gets to drive the Honda and the
only complaint I hear from them is how sensitive the brakes are. You'll get use to em !!

OK, I've driven the car for a year and a half now, and I also stand by my statement I made when I first bought it. Something is wrong if you have to continually think about the brakes or you will make your passenger hit the windshield when you brake. I've driven many cars over the past 35 years, and I have never seen any car behave like this. I like the car ... but Honda should admit something is wrong and work to fix it.
