Default Aftermarket Key Fob Source Question

So, I just purchased a pre-owned '01 Accord EX, 4 banger, MT. It came with one key. I'll likely have to source a second from a locksmith, as the dealer wants $160, and Lowes doesn't appear to carry a replacement for my Accord.
So... I have been looking around on eBay for aftermarket key fobs that appear to be similar to the factory fobs, and am curious if there is a specific chipset code I need to look for? They appear to have good ratings and are way cheaper than OEM. Any direction, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

There is a "transponder" in the key that you have to match.

I am not sure how you can find the match, I would go with the locksmith.

Go to car keys express.com or remotes remotes.com and buy a key. T5 keys fit your vehicle.

It shouldn't be that expensive at the dealer. You might want to try a different dealership. My local dealer only charged 80 bucks for a key cut to the VIN, and programmed to the car (my wife's 00 Accord). It's been a godsend, in that when we go on vacation, she has her key, and I have mine to get into the car or trunk. Plus I just grab my key when I need to do service on her car.

I think the typical charge for cut and program is between $40-$50. I purchased my key online and took it in to get serviced and they did mine for around that price.

Yeah, I don't know for sure what the service charge is exactly, as I had my wife take the car to the dealer, and she had them make a second key for it (they supplied the blank, and programed it), that would do ALL of the locks and run the car. It was 80 bucks out the door with tax.

Thank you for your input guys. I went to a different dealer, and key with programming was $38 out the door. I did an aftermarket key fob, and it works great!
