Alarm goes off for no reason after locking doors
2002 Honda Accord SE
Any ideas as to why my alarm would go off after usually 2-5 mins after locking the doors with the remote? This is the stock Honda alarm. I have to leave the doors unlocked because i can't find the fuse that activates the car alarm
Thanks!
Justin

RE: Alarm goes off for no reason after locking doors
I had this happen on an earlier model and it was the battery voltage was low; battery was old. A new battery fixed the problem. The battery started the car fine, however we finally noticed that engine turn-over speed was not good.
Walmart sells a nifty little battery monitor (voltmeter) that plugs into the cigarette lighter. If you get one, look for battery voltage to drop below 11.5 volts or lower. This will cause the alarm to go off. The battery monitor is also useful to identify a weak alternator (voltage too low /w full load).
good luck

Yeah well i had it go through a car wash and immedietly after returning from the wash, this problem started. I'm wondering if it has something to do with some wet wires of some sort around the car somewhere and may cause the drop in voltage if there is any. On the other hand the battery is fairly old as it is.
