Do you have basic metric tools, a cheap volt meter. I bet we could walk/talk you through most of the testing and replacement if needed........for the 1457, some of the testing/replacement is under the rear seat so a jack and jack stands would be needed.

Yea, we do this for nothing....so all we get paid is knowing that we helped someone figure out waht is wrong and get it fixed without throwing a bunch of money at it

I do have an old volt meter sitting around don't know if it even works. I do have a jack and jack stands though, I can get the car up. so where would I start?? kinda looking forward to learning something..

btw, I know you guys are all sad that this doesn't pay you but I sincerely do appreciate it, all BS aside.. I mean, if I had a legit 50k a year salary, I'd have no problems sending over a 100 dollar check to you guys for helping out.. but I don't have that, hell I got 185 dollars to my name.. actually 186.40..

Alright so update on this situation.. I reset the check engine light after just reclosing the gas cap just to be sure it wasn't that.. the light didn't come back on but I had to get my inspection done and I did.. bad idea cuz I just lost 37 dollars for nothing, it failed..

things that failed:
Catalyst (G)/NMHC Catalyst (D)
Evaporative System (G)/Unsupported (D)
O2 Sensor (G)/Exhaust Gas Sensor (D)
EGR/VVT (G,D)

So I guess that means the catalytic converter just crapped its pants..
