Default Backup fuse

Hi,

My first post...

Here is my problem, my accord 2003 (sedan Canada)

The lights open by themselves, and sometime I have to shut them down by unplugging the batterie.

Under the hood, in the fuse box I hear clicking sounds, if I remove the backup fuse (40A) the clicking stops, the sound seems to come from the same fuse box, but I unplugged every relay one by one, and the clicking continues.

The engine starts even if the fuse is removed...

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks.

Can't find where the DRL module is located looked under the steering column...

DRL relays are in a box just to the left (front looking to rear) of the underhood fuse box.

good luck

I am not sure for the 2003 Canadian Accord; however, the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU) which is part of the cabin under-dash fuse box, may be used to control the DRL function.

The clicking sound you may be hearing, may be the DRL relay located in the engine compartment. See this thread for pictures of the DRL relay (posts #3 and #6):

Here is something new I found tonight, the engine compartment relay is the DRL relay, if I remove it, of course the DRL are not working.

If this relay is in place the DRL turn on 10-15 sec after the engine is shut down.

If I remove it the lights work almost normally, the left high beam stays shut, I put the relay in... the left Hi-beam lights up!!!

Can't find the DRL module inside the cabin, must be part of the MICU.

The relay is a Mitsuma RC-5102, how can I test it?

Sounds like the left high beam bulb may be bad. I would recommend replacing that. The DRL uses the high beam bulb; but, at reduced brightness.

You can test the relay with a test light, continuity tester, or multimeter. I'll see if I can dig something up.

Thanks,

Tested the relay, it's not faulty.

I will purchase a High beam tomorrow and see...

I will keep you informed.

BTW, in the little box where I removed this relay, there is space for two relays, but there was only one!

The car is at 253000km...(158000 miles)!!!

must be the wiring...

Now if I lock my doors engaging the alarm... at random my alarm starts...
