So my car has an internal coil since there are only four wires on the distributor cap? I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by jumping the service connector. I clicked on the link in your post but it said "file not found".

1992 is the first year with the SCS connector. On your 91, you pull back the passengers carpeting & look for a blinking LED.

So do I try to jump the blinking led? And the codes I'm looking for come up on the dash as a series of blinking lights right? Or will it be a number?

OK, the first thing that crossed my mind wasnt very nice... so Ill keep it to myself.

I never had a Hondafrom those years, but I think you dont do anything except count the blinks.

I hope the links help.

The SCC was available in 1990 and probably 91 as well. I had a 90 and it was under the glove box.

Coil is more likely than ignitor in my experience, but there is a DIY diagnostic to distinguish between the two faults. Coil secondary resistance measurements can be misleading and primary is very close to zero resistance.

good luck

Also, if those new spark plugs say Bosch on them, then it is likely that they killed the coil.

So Tex... In 90 & 91, the SCS connector was there? The link about troublecodes says up including 91 you have flashing LED on the ECU itself.

Im curious so I dont keep giving people bogus information...

I think that the SCS connector is there on all the 4th gen accords.

I think that you can always count the LED on the ECU for all 4th gen accords. The CEL light must only flash the code on 92+ accords?
