Best replacement starter

They usually have the records if you give them your number and name, they put you in the system. That serves as a receipt.
I never really thought of it but to me the brand of the starter never mattered since theyre reconstructed. Paying $120 for a starter from a reputable store, its only in use to start the car and as long as it turns to start the engine its good enough. Bottom line is that all starters will be a risk as most are reconstructed. Majority of the time they dont go bad so quick after being rebuilt.
Are you so sure its the starter though? And not the connections or even the battery?

I put the key in ignition, turn all the way and no start, just a click. radio and lights will turn on. I do this twice, take key out, and try again and car starts right up. It doesn't happen every time, it seems to be on the days I am doing a lot of small trips around town. For a while, it didn't do it for a month. Is the starter/battery checkup at Advance Auto reliable?

Yeah, they can check the starter but I think you need to take it out. Thats a real quick job though. 5-10 minutes.
Starter is going when you try to turn on the car and you hear a rapid clicking but no cranking engine. The single click could mean that there is a wire not connected securely. When the jolt of electricity runs through it shorts out. Check the ground from your negative terminal to the chasis, immediately next to the battery and the ground and hot wires running to the starter.
If it is your starter, when its not working you should be able to hit it with a wrench or hammer and that will help it temporarily. If you find that option is the only thing helping then its a bad starter.

"robinson"- the starter on a 2004 4 cyl, OP never said so this is a guess (or I missed it), is a bit more involved than the ones on the 94-02 Accords...........if it is a 4cyl, the intake manifold has to come off.
