Default Bog Down after rev

I got a bit of a problem. The car runs fine but if I lightly rev the engine to 3k and let go it will bog down. Can anyone help me figure this out. Im thinking maybe the exhaust is clogged some where idk just a guess. If you have any ideas please let me know thanks

Your idle air control valve (IACV) may be blocked w/ crud or failed. Idle air control valve supplies air to control idle speed under load. It can become covered w/ oil/dust and become blocked preventing air flow. Also the throttle plate and throttle bore accumulated oil/dirt and block air flow. Clean both IACV and throttle plate/bore w/ throttle body cleaner.

Get a manual to ID parts and locations.

good luck

Thanks for the help I will diffently get it cleaned some how. I checked it out today looks kinda difficult to take off and I sure do have a lot of crud on the back of the throttle plate so really needs to be cleaned. I do have a question though I have a short ram intake on it 4cyl auto by the way and when I took the intake off while running it did just fine under the rev. Do you think the intake is causing any of the problems.

It might cause some of the problem if there are substantial air leaks. This might affect MAP and cause ECU to erroneously set fuel injection quantity, leading to drivability issues.

I would reinstall OEM air intake and see if that fixes the problem. CAI's don't help much except make some noise that some folks like.

good luck
