Default Brake Job - what do I need?

I just got my first Honda Accord running by putting a new motor in it. First time I have ever change a motor and it started right up!

I need to change the front brake pads and from owning different cars and doing my own maintenance, I have learned many times you need more than just a few standard sockets. If I know I need special tools before I pull the wheels off, I can get them before I put on my "brake changing clothes".

So those of you who have changed the front pads on a 97 Honda Accord 2.2 DX 2 door, do you remember what tools you need? Sizes would be very helpful.

The rotors look good but if they need special tools to take off, that would be helpful also.

i dont recall the sizes
but i have a 97 4dr se

Im not sure if those have the big socket that holds the rotor intact, but if it does, you'll need that socket size if you plan on removing the rotor.
If you're not planning on doing so,
a socket set, lubes, and that tool to push the piston back is all you need.

Google search ericthecarguy and captive rotors. That will show you how to change out the rotors and removal of the brake pads.

Ok so I just watched a couple of videos. Pads are easy. BUT WHO CAME UP WITH THE IDEA TO MAKE DISKS SO HARD TO CHANGE!!!!!!

You have to take the entire thing apart. That's stupid.

Yeah... beginning in 1998 Honda made the front rotors normal like any other car.
