Brakes overheating
I'm not going to lie i am really rough on breaks. I have had the car for a year and have replaced the breaks twice. I do a lot of city driving with about par with highway. The pad wont even be worn down much but they are cracked and keep making a scraping sound. idk how to proceed with this. any idea's? Any help is appreciated

The cracks are due to the heat, as you already know. It may just be due to the way you drive. Otherwise, rotors should be inspected for gouges and measured for proper thickness with a micrometer (don't include the lip of the rotor in the measurement). If rotors are okay, it can also be caliper problems... or back to driving style.

The rotors are still good with no defects, it may be from my driving, i drive the car like it is a sports car. But would ceramic brakes work better? and possibly drilled/slotted rotors help as well?? anything to help would be great. and the money is not a problem as long as it's not an arm & leg

What do you mean by driving like a sportscar? Hard acceleration and hard breaking?
I don't think a slotted rotor would help with reducing heat on the break pad. If anything, they would cause the pad to heat up even more, since they're so effective at producing more fiction.
So I would go with the ceramic break pads which can take more heat. Or you can go with both ceramic break pad and slotted/drilled rotor. Then you'll be riding a sports car (??) Don't forget to hit Mr. WheelBrokerAng up for some wheels... :P

If this car has rear drum bks. thay may be out of adjustment check that first next are the pins on frount free? Try a set of OEM pads May also be due for a break flush Oh also will rear brk. hold? It may be a combo. of things

1) soft pads that would wear out themselves, or
2) hard pads that would wear out the rotors,
... I'd go with #1.

when i say sports car i mean hard acceleration and hard braking. and for the rotors i was thinking more of the drilled not slotted. and i have the duralast gold b/c earlier this year i was a little hard on money, other wise i would have gotten better ones. and about the drum brakes idk, i know nothing about drum brakes

Would like to know what you have on the rear.....if the rear are not properly adjusted then all of the stopping is being done by the front......As Joe asked, how well does the e-brake work....not a true test/inspection but a very good start.
