Broken Distributor Mount
#2
I assume you broke upper lug of the 3-bolt distributor bracket on cylinder head.
Couple of possibilities:
1) There are three bolts that hold distributor in place. Two should be adequate to hold. Try that.
2) Take car to a good welding shop and have the aluminum mount rewelded to the bracket.
good luck

just use JB weld. I did the same thing t my cb7 few years ago. The JB weld did the job and that engine saw red line every day of its life.
Also if you did want to replace it you can but it’s a PITA you have to remove the cam to get to that whole assembly.

you need to take a piece of wood and use the hood to hold down pressure for the JB weld to do its job. Also let it sit for at least 24hrs. I used the past mix but it works better if you use the liquid JB weld. The key is the pressure and letting it sit as long as your willing to over 24hrs for the best results.

Very true...I used JB Weld to repair a corroded water jacket on my 1978 Mercury 50 hp 2 stroke outboard motor. The water jacket corroded and caused a stream of water and steam to leak just outside of the #4 sparkplug port. I wirebrushed the saltwater crust down to clean metal and did two applications of JB Weld to build the area up to where it needed to be. Next day, a flat file to level the waterjacket deck to seat the sparkplug against. I then used Permatex copper based sealant on the sparkplug threads, and guess what....After almost 200 hrs of hard use in the swells on my 15 Boston Whaler, it doesn't leak a drop and compression is equal to that of the other cylinders. That stuff is the best !!
