Brown "plug" in engine fuse box
Good Evening,
While driving my wife's car (1999 Accord EX v6) tonight I smelled burning rubber/plastic. In the engine compartment I followed the smell to fuse box and found a brown plug looking item with liquefied sealant. I have checked all over the internet and searched this forum, and cannot find this on any fuse box diagram. At the same time the BRAKE, Battery, Door dash lights all came on and stayed on. I think these two are related. Anyone that can help I would be very appreciative.
"Plug" circled in the picture attached.
Thanks,
G

That would be the electric load detector. I think that is part of the fuse box, so you would have to replace the whole fuse box.
You may want to first have the alternator tested, because the alternator is wired to that connector. You should also inspect the wiring at the alternator. Get the codes checked just to be thorough.
