Bulb Replacement, hi beam & DRL problem
Hi,
I recently purchased some of those euro white lights for my 92 Accord. My passenger side hi beam was out and my DRL would work intemittantly. Usually the DRL light would be on on my dash telling me it wasn't working. I didn't know why and assumed perhaps it was because my one hi beam bulb was out.
I replaced all 4 bulbs with the new euro ones. I made certain to not touch any of the glass portion as I understand it dramatically reduces the life of the bulb.
When I removed the old passenger side hi beam bulb it was black, appearing burnt out to me.
I tested the new lights and all worked fine except for the passenger side hi beam again which would not go on.
I fiddled with it and still no go.
I then swapped the left and right bulbs (the driver hi beam for passenger) and still the passenger one is out. This, to me, totally rules out the bulb.
Any ideas? I don't have the necessary meters to test the wires, but could my DRL and this be interrelated perhaps? I will likely have to take it in, what should my mechanic look for?
Much thanks!

RE: Bulb Replacement, hi beam & DRL problem
on the headlite plug,,,,,,,,,get a test lite and make sure that there is power at the red/green wire and ground at the red/blue wire with the head lites on high beam,,, if no power . possible fuse or wiring problems... if no ground wiring problem..

RE: Bulb Replacement, hi beam & DRL problem
Thanks Deserthonda,
Yeah, I definitely need to get testing equip for sure.... further to it though:
I started the car, no DRL. I release the handbrake and both hi beams come on and DRL light goes off. So the socket works as well as the bulb.
I then turn on the headlights, so far so good. I put the high beams on - works!
I then switch between his and lows and on and off and after a little while the passenger side hi beam stops working again. Very peculiar. I wonder about fuse or grounding issue. Hmmm... thanks again, I need to do further troubleshooting.
