a/c compressor does not cycle

a/c compressor does not cycle
00 accord EX V6. I can turn the a/c on and the display will say on but the compressor does not cycle on. The idle will change but no cold air. The blower works great and the refrigerant pressure reads 90psi on both sides of the compressor. What kind of safety or transducer might be holding the compressor out? Is this a mechanical issue with the compressor clutch? Thanks for the help.

With 90 psi, the compressor should engage at least briefly, even w/ low charge. Check for 12V to the compressor clutch coil when AC is commanded On. If you have 12V, the compressor clutch coil is open or clutch gap is too large (most likely).
Accessing compressor on a V6 looks like no fun, but at least it's on front side of engine. A shop manual will be essential for DIY. Check youtube for videos of replacement procedure.
good luck
