A/C compressor seized?....
Hi all,
We bought a 2000 Accord 3.0 yesterday.
The air con isn't working and in the folder full of receipts there is a garage report stating that the compressor is seized. The quote for repair was about £1400!!!! Needless to say, the previous owner decided not to have it repaired.
Is there anyway of repairing or refurbing the compressor or do we have to live without air con?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, it can be fixed. You will need to remove and examine the compressor and receiver/drier to see how much debris (from compressor siezing) is scattered in the system.
Compressor may have locked up due a mechanical failure and not lack of lubrication which would mitigate debris in the system.
Pour retained oil from compressor and open available ports to look for debris. Pour oil from receiver/drier and look for debris.
If extensive debris is found, you will need a major repair; new compressor, condensor, receiver/drier, and evaporator to eliminate the debris. Only the hoses can be reused by flushing thoroughly.
If no or very little debris, suggest you replace only the receiver/drier and compressor.
good luck
