I just bought an engine for my 93 Accord Lx, Originally it has a f22a engine, but the engine i bought is a F22b2. Is this engine compatible with my car...?? Will the engine bolt right in with same motor mounts? Will the F22a transmission go onto the F22b2 engine???? any information would really help.

I suspect there may be some issues. I checked Car-part.com and they distinquish between the two engine options. Usually if parts are compatible they will allow cross-reference to compatible parts. I think you may be a little late to check this out, if you've already bought the engine.

If you have to pull the old engine anyway, you will be able to see if mechanically they are compatible. I suspect there may be some ECU and Trans Control Unit (TCU) differences, which might be overcome by purchasing a compatible ECU and TCU. Transplanting engines puts you in the role of experimenting, and this can be time consuming and tedious.

good luck

Not sure if this helps butI bought my 93 accord that had already been swapped with the f22b2 engine, not really sure about the other details such as the transmition, Mine is automatic. So as far as the engine goes, yeah it is possible,I own one. Am I the person to ask how to do it... no.I would like some information on this too, im just curious
