Default cant find proper procedure to clean egr passages on v6

hi folks,
I got a 3.0L 2004 accord that is displaying the symptoms of clogged egr passages. (hesitating under load etc...) My problem is I can't find the proper procedure to do this on a 2004 3.0L. Can anyone here shed some light on this???? I've looked on this forum and others but because I'm not too computer savvy Ive come up with zilch....Thanks in advance guys.

This is the pdf for 98-02 V6 accords.

tegger.com/hondafaq/tsb/accord/A99-085.pdf

The manifold for your 04 accord in the picture below should have a similar setup. The hole in the gasket below #8 should be for the EGR port.

thanks for that. I think its not quite compatible with my vehicle though. Let me ask you this. Is R/R ing the manifold much more than just removing the bolts and lifting it off? It doesnt seem all that complicated.

All you need to do is remove the intake manifold upper cover.

Remove the intake manifold upper cover (#4) and clean the intake manifold EGR port with carburetor cleaner and a brush.

The upper cover mounting bolts and nuts should be removed sequentially. After cleaning, install a new gasket (#6) and tighten the bolts and nuts sequentially. (Torque: 8.7 lbf-ft.)

Oil inside the intake manifold? That might be a clogged PCV valve. How about oily stuff in the throttlebody?

no oil in the throttle body but the plenum is pretty oily. I guess ill try thr PCV valve. Any other suggesstions? Is the only EGR [ort just on the top side of the engine??? or does the plenum need to come off? thanks

Generally, the plenum does not need to come off and do any additional cleaning. Are you experiencing drivability problems or get a trouble code?

Changing the PCV valve is always good.
