Car is in drive. Engine revs but no movement
I was on the highway tonight (not speeding) and my car gradually came to a halt. I could not accelerate nor reverse. I got it towed to a Transmission specialist parking lot. My car starts fine, the radio plays, and my lights are working properly. Please help

Thanks for posting your year. Put that info in your signature, so you don't have to remember to enter it on every thread.
There is a problem with the transmission. The first item to check is the fluid level. The second thing to check is engine and transmission codes. Was the D4 light flashing or check engine light remain on while driving? Some basic diagnostics will need to be done at first.
If your transmission failed, there are plenty of used 94/95 transmissions out there for a decent price. The rate of transmission failures is pretty low on those era accords.

Done any work on the car lately??
Specifically, I'm wondering if one of the axles has come un-clipped from the differential...
Or maybe the shift cable (from shift lever to trans) has got out-of-adjustment.

I've heard of axles being not completely snapped into the transmission, where they work OK for awhile before coming out. They just come out of the transmission just enough to disengage the splines in the differential.
Push it back into place. You might have to remove the axle from the steering knuckle so you can push it properly. If you replaced the axle yourself, you'll already know what to do.
But last year??? If that's what happened to yours, you might hold the record for how long it lasted before popping out.

I'm awaiting a call from the mechanic now, I didn't replace the axle myself. I had my personal mechanic do it.
The car would rev up as i pressed the gas. I sat for about 20 mins and tried to go again amd it went 15yds and stopped. It would not reverse or accelerate. No check engine light

I should've asked whether the speedometer shows any speed when you're doing this??
If the speedometer DOES show speed, then it might be the axle popping out.
If the speedometer DOES NOT show any speed, then it might be more serious inside the transmission.
