Something I should have said from the start is that this vehicle had been sitting in a guys garage since 2005, and he said he drove it into the garage.
Check valve clearances. Sitting for six years, could be that they're not completely closing due to corrosion/crap on the valve stems and/or guides. Would explain the "the vehicle turns over very easily" if it turns over too easily i.e., no compression in one or more cylinders. A more likely scenario than stuck compression rings. If you find valves with giant clearances - way out of spec - that's your problem.

OK guys... I borrowed a compression tester, and have basically NO compression at all... Only one cylinder showed to have any at all!

Ouch....now if it was running when it was last parked.....sounds like the rings are frozen.
Sorry didn't re-read everything but you are sure the t-belt is still on _cam moves/dist rotor spins/or pull the upper cover.

Was the no compression after putting some oil into each cylinder? If not, go ahead and do that and retest.

Roader... You are the Man! for sharing that link with me... I went threw all the post... Finally decided to check the timing marks, then removed the Valve covers turned over the motor and quickly saw that a few of the valves were not coming back up... I thought for a while, and then the next morning went out and checked it and the valves had come back up... turned engine over, and the appeared to be stuck again... So, I got some penetrating lubricant and started spraying threw the springs and using a rubber Mallet started tapping on the top of the rockers until the valves would come back up... Then I would spray again and go through the whole process again... Eventually the did not stay stuck down....

Anyway... Now the engine starts runs GREAT... no problems ... No clattering... No smoking... Awesome car... Absolutely worth what I paid for it... ;p... a friend actually GAVE me the car.... What a WIN!..... Winning!
