Default Carburetor will idle, but not accel, need quick help!

Alright so my 88 accord dx's carburetor is acting up.

It will idle, but when i jab at the throttle it barely rises then gets real low, then returns to idle

I can fully push the throttle down and itll climb all the way to redline after hesitating in the lower RPMs.

Im poking around and it looks like the choke plate isnt opening at all when the throttle is pressed, and only barely moves when the throttle is pushed all the way.

Could a connection between the choke plate and throttle be dissconected or loose? or just a vaccuum leak?

Any advice would be appreciated, im gunna go get some pics in a sec. thanks!

should this be connected to anything? this is with me pushing on the choke plate

this is the most it opens with the throttle pushed all the way

Sorry didn't see your post last time I was at this website;

For carb info you need to find an old grey haired geezer.

With the breather off, plug all vacum lines on the passenger side of the carb; the one tube on the drivers side is a vent.
Now look for the CHOKE PULLOFFdiaphram on the top/front passenger side of the carb, there are 2 vacum lines going to it. Pinch off those two vacum lines and start the engine. the choke plateshould pull open, if not replace the pulloff assy.
The picture of the linkage you can see the spring,it shouldload against thatarmwhich also should push open the choke plate linkage when the Electric choke warms up.

Those two vacum lines you pinched off on the Choke Pulloffgo to thermal vacum switchs on the intake manifold;I have seen them be broken from people poking around.

There is a mechanical accelerator pump on these that also have a vaccum assist. I'm 98% certain that the vaccum assist needle is struck. Remove the vac hose from the accelerator pump assist and use chunk of hose the same size to blow and suck on that port until it losens. You do not need a ton of pressure to do this.

The other test here is to disconnect the intake air temp sensor and if the car runs (although not all that well) then you know that is for sure the problem.

Ipromise you there is no freakin way the accel pump will in any way shape or form cause the choke plate to not operate.

Stupid kids from the fuel injection generation have no clue about carbs.
