I was just getting my oil changed in my 2004 Accord 3.0L EX AT at my local honda dealer and they said i am do for a timing belt change due to the years not the mileage. I just hit 48,000 miles, is it alright to wait? i can undersand doing it at 7 years with maybe 75-85k but at 48k? let me know what you guys think

The service interval under normal driving conditions for the 6 cylinder timing belt is 105,000 miles or 7 years, whichever come first.

To be safe, you should stick with the maintenance schedule recommended by honda.

You are only putting ~8K miles a year on the car. Do you do a lot of city driving where you are stopped at a light? That can add "hidden" mileage to the timing belt.
