Changing transmission fluid in 95
Hi, have a 95 Accord four cylinder Vtec. Would like to change the transmission fluid myself but do not have access to a lift, just have ramps, can it be changed on ramps or does it have to be level? Have two ramps not four. Seen somewhere it's three quarts would that be true if it's on ramps?

Is this an automatic? Yeah, you can do it on two ramps. It doesn't need to be level. Not all of the transmission fluid comes out of the transmission with a drain and fill anyways. Be sure to wipe the magnetic drain plug of the gunk. I would recommend putting on a new crush washer on the drain bolt afterward. IIRC, it should be about 2.5 quarts for a drain and fill. I usually measure how much came out, then add around the same amount and then check afterwards and top off as necessary.

Once again, Redbull is there. If you get stuck on anything let us know....I still have my 95, redbull gave/sold his a while back....do this a time or two and you'll figure out that you really don't enven have to raise it up...turn the wheels the right way and a drain pan that fits....done.
Last, PLEASE use Honda trans fluid in this generation Accord. Kind of a debate but I've seen many go wrong with using something other than Honda fluid (z1-being replaced by dw1), again my opinion....some will agree, some will not.

Thanks
Yes it's an automatic, only use Honda trans fluid, read it a hundred times don't use anything else and with 217,000 miles on the trans, why change. Will see about turning the wheels to get in there. Thanks

Anytime....again if you have a drain pan that will "slide" under the car, and hold at least 4 qts, it can be done.....I have the exact same year/model as you....mine is just over 370K
EDIT: Again, the first time or two, you might want to raise the car-proper safety. From there I've learned that "turning" the wheels to the right gives me enough room to get the ratchet in and then remove the drain bolt.

Me and my dad replaced my transmission fluid recently in my 96' Honda accord(about 251k miles). We used a sump pump to pull out the transmission fluid, started the car and rev'd it a bit through all the gears, and replaced it.
We got a quart and a half out per "suck" and repeated this three times with three more quarts. Before my car would be a tid bit slow to shift, and there was a noticeable kick forward in the car. Now it shifts almost seamlessly, and you wouldn't notice it shift if you weren't paying attention.
