Default Check Engine Light

I have a 2003 Accord 4 cyl EX-L with 72500 mile and have been getting a check engine light intermittently the last few days. Any tips on taking to dealer for service. I'm scared that they will determine the problem is not covered under the Emissions Controls warrenty of 5 years or 80K miles. Any tips appreciated, I hate to go in at he dealers service center unarmed but don't really know any other path.
Thanks

Autozone will read the code for free. Post the code (Pxxxx) on here before taking it to the dealer, and we can give you a better idea what might be the problem.

The code was P0141 which I believe is an O2 sensor - would the emissions control warrenty cover this?
Thanks

P0141 Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Secondary HO2S) (Sensor 2) Heater Circuit Malfunction

I would just call your dealership and ask about the emissions warranty, because I don't know the years/mileage on that.

I think the warranty booklet has a list of all the specific components covered for 5/80. Seems to me it included the ECU and the catalytic converter but not the O2 sensors. Better check for yourself.

E22G had the same code on my 02 Accord EX 4cyl. Turned out it was the leads not being connected right to the o2 sensor located under the car. A trip to a local muffler shop and $15 later the problem was fixed. BTW I reset the light w/ a borrowed scan tool.

Not covered by Honda warranty. (3/36 only) Honda 8/80 emissions for Federal covers catalytic converter and ECM replacement.

Check the sensor connector (it will be the one furthest downstream from the engine?) for corrosion/bad connection. If it checks ok, it's most likely a bad sensor, or a bad ground from the sensor.
