Check Engine Light Issue

Probably just a coincidence for your 94 Accord. The maintenance indicator on the 94 is just a mechanical counter with gears based on mileage that is part of the speedometer/odometer head. It has nothing to do with any sensor or the ECU. Attached is a picture of the back of the unit.
