Chicago Guy - 2011 Accord LX 5-speed
Southwest Chicago Suburbs. I needed a sales guy car so I passed on the Impala and bought the Accord - I estimate 30,000-40,000 miles a year. I owned 8 Chevrolets and 2 Fords before buying my first Honda.
I expect to break even on the small company car allowance I am given by driving a Honda Accord and would easily pay $350+ personally a month to be comfortable in a nice Chevrolet Tahoe.
1. What does Honda do to this 2.4 engine to achieve 190hp in the better model?
2. What does Acura do to this 2.4 engine to achieve 200hp?

Your engine is the K24Z2 with 177 HP.
The K24Z3 has 190 HP and is on the EX and LX-S models. The difference between the engines is that the K24Z3 uses vtec that changes the amount of time the valves are opened/closed to get more HP.
The Acura TSX K24Z3 has vtec as well and has a higher compression ratio, so you get 201 HP. I am not sure how they get the higher compression ratio. Maybe they use longer connecting rods?
The size of the bores are the same between these engines. The engine blocks are likely the same, or very similar.

I just used this information in my response.
