This question pertains to a 1998 4-dr Accord LX with a 4cyl/auto. The lite just came on yesterday & I'd like to clear it. What is the purpose of this ? I change my own oil & filter. Did a mileage number on the odometer trigger this or is this similar to a trouble code ? I searched for this in several forums & was unable to find anything.Dave

 

It's a milage timer. Resetting is covered in the manual. with the car off, hold the odo reset button, while still holding, turn the car to on, but don't crank it. Keep holding the button until a few seconds after the light goes out. Turn the key off then on to verify that the light is gone.

No problem!!! Thanks for the signature! Searches are kinda strange, you'd think that you'd find what you want by making the search as specific as possible, but they work best when you make them as general as possible ...... too specific and it won't find anything. I find that the best way is to start with 1 key word then add a single word at a time until you find what you want.
