Default Cleared a Catalytic Converter check engine light.

I cleared a Catalytic Converter error code on sunday morning. I have started the car at least 10 times and driven about 150 miles. I need to get the car inspected am I at the point where the computers would be ready for inspection? I don't want to go and just end up getting a reject sticker.

Not sure where you live but if you go to a oil lube place that does emissions, they can usually do a "readyness" test for free

Also, did you fix what ever the issue was or just clear the code?

What code did you clear? Did you do anything to fix the code?

I dont recall what the code was. It was something about the system not preforming to full specs. I looked online and a few places said to just clear the code (it was for other Makes/Models figured it was about the same) and wait to see if it comes back because most of the time you wont have to do anything to fix it. The only thing I did was to clear the code and then have been driving since then. Up to about 180 Miles now.

Your car must be OBD2 and a 96 or newer model. Post your vehicle details in your signature line to help all respond.

OBD2 as firefighter pointed out will tell you if the Catalytic Converter test is completed and readiness code cleared. If readiness code is set (Test not complete), the emissions check may not pass.

PS, some codes such as P0420 (catalytic converter low efficiency) take significant amount of driving to complete the self-test.

good luck
