Default Clutch not disengaging.

I've been gone for a year to Iraq/Kuwait and my brother took my car out a few times while I was gone. During the last time out he got stuck at the mall and couldnt put the car in gear. I figured time for a clutch since it had 180k on it and it's original so purchased it and had it put in before I got back home. Now that I'm home and drove from GA to MD in it, it has started to do the same thing (not completely but hard to put it in gear). Only thing changed was the clutch and it drove fine. I took a look at it today and I see where the slave has a shim at the end and it is moving freely. Starting to think that shim is the reason for the initial issue. Also the clutch will only disengage when the pedal is almost to the floor. Not right with a new clutch. No fluid leak and system has not been cracked open. Fluid is still good as I change it every 60k. What are you all thoughts about it. I was thinking about testing it with a small piece of wood on the end to see if it solves the issue

Sounds like something with the clutch hydraulics. You may want to check the clutch pedal linkage to the master cylinder. That could be out of adjustment. Most likely the cup seals in either the slave or the master are heating up and allowing fluid to bypass, so the slave cylinder doesn't push out the clutch fork entirely.

Would you suggest just replacing both the cylinders? I think that's the route I'm going to go because I don't see anything wrong doing visual checks.

I'd replace both cylinders. I think adler was an oem manufacturer of honda master cylinders. Nissin is another one I remember.

Managed to find OEM Adler for both. Hopefully I don't have issues when installing. Should be a straight forward install.

Got the slave and master clutch cylinders installed and I have the same issue. This one is puzzling for sure. The pedal linkage is set to the factory length. I guess I'm going to adjust it to see if it makes a difference.

I think I got it all sorted. A minor adjustment and she seems to be back. I will take it on a longer drive tomorrow to verify.

I also need to get the clutch pedal bracket welded. The crack has gotten longer. Hopefully I can find someone who can weld in a tight working area. It's about 2" long now on the left side. It sucks they are spot welded so you can't just replace it.
