Default Clutch/trans problem? plz help

1995 Honda Accord LX

ok heres the problem. latley ive noticed that my clutch really doesnt do anything up untill the last inch or so
of raising the peddle. Meaning 90% of its motion is really doing nothing.

basically it feels like the clutch spring or what ever is in there is not pushing hte motor with the wheels together strong enough. It feels
overly easy to put the clutch and:

here is what happens now. If i accelerate anywhere faster then an average old person speed the engine slips. It slips in the same way as if
the clutch was slightly pressed down. As long as i keep bellow the speed of slippage it accelerates fine but if i press it, the Rpms go up but the car doesnt really accelerate much.

now is there a simple way i can fix this? maybe tighten some spring or what?

plz help

thanks.

Time for a new clutch, yours is worn out.

As the clutch wears thin, the hydraulic system makes up for it (self-adjusting). That works up to a point where the slave cylinderruns out of stroke. Then the engagement point of the clutch will rise higher off the floor, & then it starts to slip.

ok ive been reading a bit about replacing a clutch yourself.

do any of you guys know how difficult this is on my perticular car?

Would this be reasonable to do? I am generally pretty good at bulding things, i replaced my radiator
which...is probably a peice of cake compared to this but i really dont want to spend 500+ bux...

any tips? recommendations?

is it that hard to do it without a lift?

let me know please cuz im gona have to do something about it soon.

I can't think of any way to do it w/out either pulling the engine or the transmission.
When AAMCO did mine, they pulled the tranny.
I know a lot of people who prefer to pull the engine.
Not fun.

can anyone give me some more info on replacing the clutch of this specific car?

cuz ive been reading around and generally people seem to say that "ITS REALLY HARD" or "IT really is pretty easy
and just take a bit of time"

and if its not that hard at all and just takes some time, id rather do that.

if someone who has done this could give me some info, maybe a link so a site that shows step by step work for the 95 honda accord?

thanks

You need to remove the transmission, it is not a very difficult job but a long one ,you need the proper tools ( lots of them ) and a lift would be a lot easier that way you do not have to crawl under the car,
you need to remove the wheels, axles, ( axle nuts can be a hard one ) 36 mm socket needed ,jack car up and put car on blocks ( jack stands ) make sure not to fall on you while you are under the car working, on second thought . ,you might want to bite the bullet on this one and have a shop do the job ,,,,,,,,If you plan on doing it yourself i would advice you get a manual and follow directions

Actually, i just realized that on oue DIY section there is a post ( 94- 97 acc, infos and manual)

Get a repair manual - the onesfrom helminc.comare the best. Pricey but pays for itself in just this one job.

Look at a public library, many times they'll have something, even if it's a Chilton or Haynes book. Any '90 - '02 4-cyl Accord will be about the same, if you're just trying to decide whether you're up for the job.
