Code P1382? How to fix for my 98 Honda Accord EX?
I have a 98 Honda Accord EX 4 cylinder with a trouble code coming back P1382 Cylinder Position Sensor 1 No signal? I had my distributor replaced once before when it was in the shop but they put my old distributor back on my car the mechanic said it wasnt my distributor because the same code came back. So I am confused on what this code is. Please help I am starting to get frustrated. What do I need to change so this CEL will go off so I can have my car inspected? Thank you so much.

P1382 is a circuit fault of the Cylinder Position Sensor. Circuit fault can be sensor, connector, wiring, or PCM. Diagnostics are required to determine location of fault.
Release distributor connector and check sensor leads (shop manual req'd). Reconnect connector at distributor. Disconnect CPS wires at PCM by releasing correct connector at PCM. Check resistance again. It should be same unless there is a wiring or connector fault. If fault is detected, it must be located by checking wires separately and inspection.
If resistance at PCM connector is same as at distributor connector, then PCM fault is indicated. A replacement PCM is solution.
good luck
