connector @ front of engine
car I'm working on: 94 accord/f22b2
Could anyone be able to tell me what this connector is for? Looks like the loom is coming from the bottom and the connector is mounted by the timing cover. 4-pins
There are no obvious harnesses that would go to it. In fact, all of them are plugged in that I can see.
Thanks in advance.

Is it the one that comes out of the timing cover? If so that is for the crank angle/crank position sensor.
Are you putting in a replacement engine in that is from a different year? Because the location varied by year

The 96 and 97 accord had those sensors under the timing cover. If you are using your 94 distributor, then you won't have to worry about connecting those wires up. You have those sensors in your distributor.

Yes they do. But I still have a connector at the front of the engine that has no plug for it.

That unplugged sensor is only on 96 and 97 engines, so this engine or oil pump had to come from a 96/97 if we are talking about the same connector. Post a picture to be sure.
If the distributor plugs in, do not worry about sensor. If you go to start the car and you start getting a check engine light, then we can start troubleshooting.

Ok i want to make sure i understand this because i bought a engine from a salvage yard for a 95 honda accord ex(v-tec) and didnt no there was a differance with the 96 and 97 had the engine put in and they couldnt get it to run so i have been looking over things and saw this same plug unpluged so what you saying that if i use the distributor from the 95 i dont have to worry about the cranksensor plug? are do i have to change something else also i seem to be getting fuel and fire? Thank you
