Default Coolant leak!

hey guys, i have a 95 accord which is overheating only while on the freeway. so i looked under the car and found a leak coming from either the pipe connecting.to the water pump or the water pump itself im not sure.

my question is, can that leak make the car only over heat on the freeway? or can their be another problem causing this btw i have no thermostate installed and both fans work.

i can drive the car for to hours in stop and go traffic but on the freeway only like 5 min...

Problem may be a head gasket leak allowing combustion gas into cooling system under higher combustion pressures at higher speed.

Suggest have a cold cooling system leak test performed to identify source of leak; either internal or external.

good luck

As loing as coolant is available in the reservoir, the engine should not overheat. When coolant reservoir goes dry, the system coolant volume will begin to decrease, eventually leading to overheating. Being on the freeway just makes it happen faster,..if the coolant leak is the only problem.

The cooling system needs repair in any case.

good luck

A clogged up radiator can flow enough coolant at low speeds but not enough at high speeds.
