Cooler thermostat?

Cooler thermostat?
So I did some research on this... my car runs kinda hot and I had the thermostat replaced some time ago by an 'at home' mechanic, trying to figure out why my heat wasnt working. That wasnt it. But I have another thermostat in my car. I have no idea what temp it is, probably 190. They dont sell 200 degree ones do they? My car stays around 200-5 degrees when fully warmed up. I found a thermostat for 170 degrees and am thinking about putting it in.
Anything I should know? Ive read that the ECU has to be retuned to kick on the fans early but thats not possible with the stock ECU. Is it worth doing something about that? Maybe a resistor or something on the fans?
Or can I get away with just installing the cooler thermostat and get my engine temp to drop a bit?

nothing wrong with that temp, mine runs at about 202-203 when the fans come on, the emissions systems require the engines to run at these temps. wouldn't worry about it...a cooler stat would cause you more trouble than you would fix.
