cooling fans on with ignition off
happened today.. turned the car off and took out key, fans turned on. to I position they turn off. II they come back on until car is cooled down.
could this be caused by a loose ignition switch? supplying power to fans bc it is keeping a connection to electronics?

In the sticky called index to common DIY threads, there is a link that describes the coolant temperature sensors in your car.
There is a sensor B that will send a signal if the coolant is above a set temperature to turn the fans on to help cool the car when the car is turned off. It is an open/closed switch. If the sensor failed closed, then the fans will always turn on for about 15 minutes when you turn the car from II to off.
Try this when you first go to drive the car after its sat all night. Turn the key to the II position, then turn the ignition switch off. If the fans come on, then replace temp sensor B or inspect the wiring.
