Could a bad pcu lead to abs failure?

I'll have to take a look at the shop manual for the exact diagnosis for the D4 code 40 (P0740).

It may be a simple fix of cleaning the lockup solenoid or oil/corrosion in the electrical connector. Replacing the solenoid isn't too bad, but you should do some tests first. Hopefully you have a volt meter.

I will try to remember to post more specific instructions when I can dig up the manual.
