Cranks but doesnt start...?
Sup Guys,
I own a 2000 Accord EX Sedan, for some reason the car no longer starts. It cranks strong but it doesnt start. I tried spraying starting fluid into the throttle a couple of times but it still didnt start. I checked the ecu fuse which looks good. The car has been sitting for nearly two weeks. We had a bad winter storm last week here in new york. However for the past couple of days the weather has been in the 30's and today in the 40's so i dont think anything would be frozen. Before then it turned on with no problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I will guess that it is the Distributor module , but you would have to check it to be sure , if you spray starting fluid and it does not fire (does it try and fire?) if it trys to start it could be the fuel pump and if just cranks you are not getting a spark.

My guess is if you tried starting fluid and it didn't try to fire, you've got a spark issue. If you have access to a timing light, connect it to cyl 1 and have someone crank it. If the timing light doesn't light up, you've got a spark issue.

AccordPete, what is the distributor module?
Dshow, unfortunately i do not have access to a timing light. I do believe its a spark issue, will replacing the plugs make any difference? I brought the car from a private seller in march and have no idea when was the last time it had a tune up.

Guys thanks for all your feedback and suggestions, i found the problem. Apparently it was my alarm. I have a Viper 5900 remote start alarm. I placed the alarm in valet mode thus disabling the alarm and it started right up. I think the bypass module for the remote start might have gone faulty. Unfortunately when i installed the alarm i didnt have a spare key to use for the remote start so we used a bypass module. I'll have my installer take a look at it and possibly remove the bypass module and use the key instead.
Thanks Again
