Well for starters, if you're lucky, that'll do it. If not, you need to test where the fault is. Were all the lights in the car working right? master button lights up... light on the dash comes on when you press 'set'?

Copy and paste this link in your browser:

media.honda.co.uk/car/owner/media/manuals/accordManual/400/16-267.pdf

You will get a pdf that has the diagnostic procedures at the cruise control unit on pages 16-258 and 16-259. You will need a volt meter for these tests. Page 16-253 shows the location of the control unit where that you need to unplug for the tests.

A simple test for vacuum would be to press in on the diaphragm and then block the holes. If the diaphragm stays in, then its holding vaccum. If not, then its time for a new unit.

Personally I would take apart the defective unit and try to seal it with something. Even if it doesnt work it would be a learning experience.

woooooooooooooohooooooooooooo!!! works like a champ.......even though one of the belts is starting to get tattered, Either when they changed the timing belt, which needs to be redone again, or who knows, but 3 things i checked, i checked the fuse, didn't know there was a fuse box at your feet(duh!), just pulled out and reseated, the vaccum hose was crimped not bad, but i just straightened it out, like i said could have been when they worked on timeing, and belts at some point, and i unplugged and plugged back in the actuator, works like a champ now!!! Thanks to all, now if I could figure out IF i need to change this timing belt, i know the other two need to be done.........sooooooooooooooooooooo on to my next project! thanks again!

Are 06 lx coupe cruiser control buttons compatible with 04 lx coupe cruise control buttons? My 04 cruise control does work unless I hold the button down. I've read that replacing the button fixes the problem. I can get free parts from an 06 accord, but I'm trying to see if they're compatible between the years.

This is covered in the common DIY thread on top of the gen tech help forum.

According to the part numbers. The 03-04 are identical. The 05 is unique. The 06-07 are identical.

I have no idea what the difference is between them. The 06 may still work in you car. You will have to inspect the electrical connection, how it mounts to the steering wheel, etc..
