Jim, I think....again bad memory, that "dark" is in Portugal....sorry if I'm wrong.
I remember for sure, he is NOT in North America.
Anyway, I can't/don't remember what year/gen switched the ecu memory. "Pretty" sure the 6th gens can be cleared by pulling the battery cables or fuse for a few minutes.....I've been wrong before.
My point, just know that the next time a shop looks for codes and comes back with a trans code.....don't get worried unless the D4 is back on.

In USA you can clear codes by pulling the battery cables up to 2002. Beginning 2003 (7th-gen) they use non-volatile memory.
But there's some disconnect with Accord "generations" in other countries. Not only are the cars different, but sometimes the generation doesn't change in the same year.
