Default D4 flashing after it shifts into 4rth

I got another accord (94 this time) and i have been driving it for about a month now. Ever since i got it the d4 light starts to flash everytime it shifts into 4rth gear. (automatic) After i turn the car off and go to start it again it does not flash untill it shifts into 4rth again. It resests everytime i turn the car off. All the gears work fine but it does jerk a little in every gear when if shifts. Also sometimes when i go to start it it fires for 1/2 a second then stalls then it is fine. I know how to check the engine codes but what do i do to check the transmission codes? I need a step by step procedure or if anybodys knows what the problem is that would be great, thanks.

It is the same procedure. Short that service connector and count the D4 flashes. Long blink = 10, short blink = 1. Definitely post that code, and we will give you a better idea of what is wrong.

I shorted the service connector and the D4 flashed 9 short blinks, so the code is #09, what would that be the code for??

Also on a seperate note i checked my 95 and the check engine light or transmission lights do not flash but the "SRS" light above the check engine light flashes on and off with no pattern. Does this mean something is wrong or that nothing is wrong?? Thanks.

Code 9 is for the countershaft speed sensor.

In the DIY section, open ACC 5th Gen... thread and go to dhost site. The pdfs on the bottom of the page are a shop manual for a 94 accord split into each chapter, which will be identical to your 95. A shop manual is an invaluable tool to do DIY work, and it is available for $0.

You basically test the resistance of the sensor. If it is out of spec, replace that sensor. If sensor is within spec, you could try cleaning the connector and putting dielectric grease in there to ensure a good contact is made.

It looks like the two wires going to the connector are blu/grn and blu/yel. The general area of that sensor is below the battery. All the information is in that shop manual.

Good luck.

Ok thanks, Maybe something happened to the sensor when it was in the accident. (before i bought it) The previous owner hit a dead deer or something and it hit the passenger side front corner and broke the bumper cover, air box, inner fender and pushed back the bottom rad support about 2"-3" So that is the general area of the sensor maybe the wires or the sensor is broken i will check it out. Thanks.
