I recently bought a lightly used 2016 CRV after an uninsured driver totaled my Accord and just today noticed that the dash lights and info display dimmed considerably when the lights are turned on. Has anyone seen this and can point me toward the problem?

 

That's probably a "feature" not a problem.

My guess is that the dash brightness is done with solid-state control for both modes. Use the dashboard dimmer switch while the headlights are turned on - I think it'll remember that setting for headlights-on and also remember the other setting for headlights-off condition.

Yup, my 99 and my wife's 2000 Accord are like that.

 

Newer ones (like my kids civics) have (+) & (-) buttons for dash brightness, somewhere. You can still adjust brightness when you're driving, you just have to know where the buttons are...
