Dealer parts price above list

Dealer parts price above list
I've discovered that Honda dealers in my area (Alexandria / Arlington, VA) charge more than list price for parts. Is that standard? Two examples. I had a broken left tail light that requires replacing the whole assembly. My dealer quoted something like $180. On HondaPartsCheap.com I found the same part selling for a little over $100 and showing a list price of about $150. I called another local dealer and he also quoted the same price as the first dealer. I told him about the online prices and he said "I can't match their price, but I can sell it to you for the list price of $150." I probed a bit, and he repeated that he too showed $150 as the list price but that they would normally charge the $180.
My dealer today told me that both rear calipers (2003 Accord, EXL) needed to be replaced as they are sticking and corroded. He quoted a parts price of $245 per caliper. Again looking online it says it is available for $130 versus a list price of $185. So again, list price is $185 and the dealer is charging $245.
In both cases this is about a one-third markup from list price.
Is this normal? I assume they get the part at a wholesale cost from Honda, and understand charging list. But higher than list? Never heard of that.
Thanks
Tom

Edit: They also sell taillight assemblies for between ~$90 and ~$110 depending upon which part you need.

The calipers probably just need some cleaning and lubrication, unless the seals are leaking. They are trying to bend you over with that price. Don't go to the dealership for anything, unless you absolutely have to have it TODAY (even then, they might not have it in stock).

I've had the same experience. It is standard for the dealers in my area. The solution is to print out the online parts dealer's page for the part you want and bring it to your local dealer. Sometimes they'll match the online price, sometimes they'll charge the list price shown, and sometimes they'll price it somewhere in between.
Very sleazy behavior on their part, IMHO. I'll never buy a brand new Honda because of it.

Same story for me, except I could always get them to match the online price. But say the online price was $100, I'd walk in say I need such and such a part, they would quote me between $200-250, then I'd say you can get it from majestic honda for $100 and they'd say okay $100.
Just trying to get some sucker to pay the insane price, but yeah it is shady business on their part.

Ahh, come on "live2rice". We aren't that bad. "List" price of $130.....depends on the product category but cost from the supplier/maker/re-builder to the dealer/WD....$20~$30 or so.
Shipo - those calipers, cost NAPA $15~$25. I'm pretty sure the true Raylock rebuilder (yes, NAPA did have thir own rebuilding place at one time) stopped rebuilding stuff back in the late 90's early 00's (can't remember the "brand name" they call their calipers today). A-1 Cardone, Morse, Fenco (recently bought by MPA) are about the only big "players" in rebuilt calipers left out there. So if you buy a rebuilt caliper from almost any aftermarket supplier....it came from one of those no matter what "box/package" it came in.
