Decrease in MPG on my '06 Accord SE
What's up, gents? It's been awhile since I posted, as my Accord has been doing well, save for the dip in gas mileage.
I used to get about a good 420 on a full tank going back and forth between work and home. For the last 6 months or so, I've only been getting about 330 to 350.
I'm at 71,142 miles and still have the original spark plugs. I know that I'm due for a new air filter, but that can't be draining MPG THAT bad, could it?
I was thinking that maybe I should change the spark plugs at this point, but the maintenance minder hasn't noted that they need changing yet.
I have run some Techron fuel injector cleaner, but no dice.
Any ideas??

Not sure if you have "winter blend" (I see you are in CA?) gas in your area. That and plugs, air filter could all be adding up.
Don't know the service interval on on '06 but if the plugs are close to nneding to be changed then I would.

Yep, I'm in California and I don't know what the deal is with the winter blend you're talking about.
As for the spark plug interval, it's not clear cut in the owner's manual, but I *think* it's saying 60,000, so there it is; however, I called the dealership and they stated 110,000 miles!
I dunno what to think at this point.
ETA: I think I'm gonna go ahead and change the spark plugs. I drive about 70 miles round trip 5x's a week, so I drive a lot. What should the GAP be for the plugs on my 2006 Accord SE?

When you got 420 miles/tank, were you running until low fuel level light came on and now it comes on at only 330-350 miles?
Are you measuring the miles/gallon or only miles/tank? Miles/gallon is the correct measure to insure consistency.
A loss of float buoyancy would cause the light to come on earlier, but you would fill w/ fewer gallons.
good luck

I think I'm gonna go ahead and check the plugs when I get a chance and see how they look.

@JimBlake: What do you think of the use of SeaFoam to clean out the motor? Here's a thread that I found over at DriveAccord:
