Delay in engagement
Hello all, new to the forum.
Ive got a 1995 Accord f22b2 with an auto trans. And I’ve noticed it engages into drive very slowly when shifting from reverse to drive or park to drive. Any ways to cure that?
Also, has anyone found any heavy duty rebuild kits for these transmissions? Or any upgrades for trans to make them stronger?
Thank you!

Supposedly when I bought it, it was changed about 10k miles ago. I do not know what fluid was put in from the previous owner. Is that a common problem with using other ATF’s?

In your case, try draining the ATF out and replacing it with Honda DW-1, three times over (this will take 9 quarts, hence the name of 3x3). If that doesn't work, then it is new tranny time.

Yes, Honda transmissions are very particular; use the wrong ATF and kiss the transmission bye-bye. I'll take it one step further, do a machine flush of the transmission, even with the correct ATF, and kiss the transmission bye-bye.
