distributor swap
To start off this isn't my car :P brother in law anyways long story short his motor blew f22b2 and he didn't have much money to fix it and I just happen to know someone with a low millage f22b1 in storage so we picked it up supper cheap with ecu and distributor "new". We swapped it out on Saturday and was 95% done but then we got to the distributor.... the plan was to use his old one and do the timing and be done with it. Problem is we don't know what happened to the old f22b2 distributor lol he said he didn't think we would need it and misplaced it the new f22b1 distributor is internal coil but the wiring in his accord is set up for external, I've tried searching but almost everyone uses the f22b2 distributor rather than trying to rewire the f22b1..... I know it sounds like a big task to ask for but I myself don't know much about wiring that's why I had planned on using the old distributor and coil but things chance lol any help or if anyone knows another thread that I may have missed it would be greatly appreciated. This is literally the only thing keeping us form finishing and I know what most of you are thinking, buy a new or used one but that's the first thing people seem to take form the junkyard and a new one online is expensive, ether than or he's going to have to buy a used one on ebay $70

ok so I did a bit of research this morning and im not 100% but I was reading that I need to ether splice together or put a 30 amp fuse between the coil wires black-yellow and yellow, I will not be needing the green wire but im still not 100% on this and im still in the dark about the rest of the wires

Is the F22B1 from a '95 - '96 car? Your '97 OBD2 car is looking for a couple of sensors behind the crankshaft pulley. If the F22B1 is an OBD1 engine from a '94 - '95 car it won't find them.
Easiest is to get another external coil distributor. I bought one a few weeks ago at a junkyard for $30 and they threw in the external coil. That way there's no rewiring needed. If you want to stick with the internal coil dizzy then some rewiring is needed. There's quite a few forum posts out there on how to do this. Here's a couple:

board(dot)accordtuner(dot)com/showthread.php?42261-External-to-Internal-coil-help
Something about shorting the YEL and BLK/YEL wires together using a 30A fuse in the connector to power the internal coil. Looks easy enough.
Good luck.

I believe both motor and car are obd2 and 97. I saw a few posts about converting them but to be honest im just going to tell him to buy an external and sell the new internal one + im no electrician so yeah lol
