Do I Have R12 or R134 A/C System? '93 Accord
Hello, I'm new here, but I've been getting into DIY car maintenance a lot.
The A/C stopped blowing cold on my '93 Accord wagon. My wife drives this car and went through half a summer already with no A/C. This summer, it's time to fix it.
My question is, how can I tell if I have the R12 system or if my car was converted to the R134 system? What parts or pieces would I look for?
I greatly appreciate any help! Thanks.

Look at the fittings on the high and low side......if done right, conversion - the 134 look more like an air hose connection - no threads on the outside. If there are threads on the outside of the high and low fitting...might be r12.

Thanks.
With the cap off, there are threads on the inside of the fitting in the image below. I don't know if this is the high or low line. I can't find the fitting on the other line. In the picture you can see that line just comes up then curves back down. It looks like it goes into the condenser.
I also found the sticker for the AC. It says R12, but that doesn't tell me if a conversion was done.
So, are there other parts changed in a conversion besides the fittings, or do you just put the R134 refrigerant into the same system?

The other fitting if I am not mistaking is behind the headlight.
If you don't know if it has been converted or not, I suggest having the system evacuated. It will have to be evacuated anyway before refilling with R134 or R12 to remove moisture and/or air.
